“Talking About Race…in Fort Bragg” will be the topic of the April Teach-In. Tackling the fraught topic of race relations will be LimaSierra Wooten, an Army brat, artist and activist from the southern state of Florida relocated to Fort Bragg in 2016, contributing to representing less than 1% of individuals identifying as Black or African Americans living on the Mendocino Coast.

Change Our Name will hold aTeach-In, Tuesday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Bragg Town Hall. Envisioned as a program to educate attendees about the issues involved in the name change and to hear neighbors’ ideas, the teach-in will last about one hour and will feature three speakers and a question and answer/discussion period. Free and open to the public. Speakers include:
Evelyn Arce Erickson is a descendant of the Muisca people of Colombia and is founder and CEO of Indigenous Resilience Consulting, serving as a advisor to both donors and Indigenous communities.
Scott Green is a Health Educator, Adapted Physical Education Specialist, Certified Yoga Teacher, and is trained in MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). Scott aspires to live in service of a sustainable loving relationship with his family, community, and our dynamic living Planet.
Adriana Narro is an At-Large member of the Board of Change Our Name Fort Bragg and owner of Atomic Dogs mobile dog grooming.

Change Our Name will hold aTeach-In, Tuesday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fort Bragg Library Community Room. We will have speakers with updates on the name change, town history, etc. as well as time for questions and discussion. Free and open to the public. Speakers include:
John Fremont was a1960’s civil rights worker and Freedom Rider. He was a Peace Corps volunteer at Univ. of Malaya, and an English teacher at Mendo College and Brooklyn College. He is the publisher, editor and founder of Cypress House. John Fremont Video
Paula Goodwin is a lawyer with an national firm who grew up as an Army brat and never had a “hometown” but she finally feels like she does now. It was her reading of history that led her to be part of Change Our Name and why she supported the name change of her law school from Hastings College of the Law to University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
Dr. Richard Louis Miller is the founder of The Health Sanctuary at Wilbur Hot Springs and Cokenders Alcohol & Drug Program, the host, Mind Body Health & Politics and author, Psychedelic Medicine, Psychedelic Wisdom, Integral Psychedelic Therapy and forthcoming Freeing Sexuality.

Caspar Fest
We will be attending Caspar Fest for the second year in a row. We had a great time last year and look forward to this year too. We will be engaging with folks answering your questions and signing people up for our email list.
